About the Event

The Lake Norman Philharmonic conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño will perform live Friday evening, October 14th  at the newly renovated Liberty Park in Mooresville.  Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, your friends, and your family for an evening of classical and contemporary music.  There's something for everyone at this FREE, family-friendly event!

A highlight of the event will be a viola solo of Bohemian Rapsody, performed by the Orchestra's own Evelyn Gardner, Principal Viola. Currently a senior at Langtree Charter Academy, Evelyn has been playing viola since the age of ten. She has a passion for art, academics, and most of all, her viola. Evelyn has played under Maestro Cedeño for the past four years in the Lake Norman Philharmonic, Lake Norman Orchestra, and several Pro-Am string ensembles in the area.  Performing this orchestral arrangement of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is her first solo debut.  Evelyn is considering attending Mitchell Community College to launch her undergraduate studies with a focus on the Fine Arts.

Vocal soloist Phil Haigler will be performing music from Wonderful Worlds.  Phil has been with the Lake Norman Philharmonic since its creation. He has worked in the Music field in the Mooresville area since moving his family here in 1983. A native of Concord, Phil has just celebrated 45 years of marriage to his wife, Linda, a Salisbury native. Phil and Linda love spending time with their children and grandchildren. Phil recently retired as Director of Music Ministry from Saint Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville and has served as director or substitute musician and several area churches. Phil loves to sing and play all genres of music but is most rewarded with simply sharing music with everyone. Before his blessing of full-time music ministry, Phil worked as a Mechanical Designer with various engineering companies in the Charlotte area, fulfilling his musical needs in his off hours.
